Dr. Roger Norton travels to Mexico

On October 21 and 22 Dr. Roger Norton, Executive Director of the Office for Latin American Programs, traveled to Mexico with Dr. Douglas Sherman, former Department Head of Geography, and Dr. Wendy Jepson, Associate Professor of Geography, to meet with about 15 faculty members and administrators of the University of Guanajuato. They were joined there by Dr. Jennifer Brown, Director of Texas A&M’s Mexico Center. The purpose was to plan a jointly sponsored conference in May 2011 on the theme of water, climate and society. The host delegation was led by Dr. Manuel Cabrera, Provost of the University of Guanajuato. After the meetings at the University of Guanajuato Drs. Sherman, Jepson and Norton traveled to San Miguel de Allende to look at the Santa Clara teaching and research facility that is being built by Aggie Pablo Marvin ‘66 for use by Texas A&M. Mr. Marvin accompanied them at Santa Clara.
