Texas A&M greets Singapore Aggies on Singapore National Day

- Released on Aug 11, 2008

Dear Aggies, I hope that this national day finds you well! I realize that I am a little late with the greeting, but didn't want to miss this opportunity to send your our greetings from Aggieland and to update you on some of the things happening here. There are lots of changes here, some of which you might have heard about. The biggest news is that Dr. Elsa Murano, A&M's new president, will be formally installed as President on September 12 of this year. We are expecting a very large crowd for the academic convocation, including representatives from universities around the world, including the National University of Singapore. We also are excited that a new Provost has been announced, and will begin work at A&M on august 15. Dr. Jeffrey Vitter is coming from a previous position as Dean of Science at Purdue University. finally, and most important of all, you might have heard about the retirement of Reveille VII. We are very pleased to announce that Reveille VIII has been found, and will begin classes this month: http://dmc-news. tamu.edu/ templates/ ?a=6479&z= 15 Please do keep in touch with us and let us know what is happening with the Aggies in Singapore! You might be pleased to know that a recent forbes magazine survey rated an Aggie degree among the most valuable degrees in the world. In the meantime, Gig 'em!
