Innovation Fund for Global Education (IFGE):

In Spring 2013, faculty and staff were invited to submit proposals using innovative ways to encourage global learning among students. A select number of these proposals were funded. Please see the abstracts of the winning proposals. A number of these projects are concepts that do not include sending students abroad.

New Program Development:

International experiences are an important part of graduate and undergraduate education. High-impact global experiences enable students to see their major, discipline, or research in a broader context, and enhance their future employment opportunities. Faculty, with the support of their departments, create the most successful international experiences  (sample faculty videos). There are many different types of programs, some of the most common include:
Exchange (REEPs)
Faculty-led
Research/Intern/Volunteer
Short-term Group Trips
Transfer Credit

As well as the following:

This type of program allows a group of students from Texas A&M University to study at a foreign institution together. The programs are developed by academic departments with overseas institutions that facilitate the greatest number of transferable credits. The credits earned overseas transfer back to Texas A&M to count towards each student's degree plan. Tuition and fees are paid to the host institution.

Degrees granted in conjunction with another accredited university. Coursework from both institutions count toward the degree and both institution names appear on the degree. Find out more about Joint Degrees here.
Coursework completed counts for degrees at two accredited universities. Students receive diplomas from each university separately. Find out more about Dual Degrees here.
